Bio:
My name is Carol Ahern – I have always had a love for art. After a rare Spinal Cord injury – Cauda Equina Syndrome in 2016, I had the opportunity to reflect while I attended The National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) in Dun Laoghaire. During my stay, I turned my love of art to express the pain I was feeling. I always had a love for I have followed this with life learning & honing my craft. My love of rural life in the countryside on our family farm which is situated on The Hill of Knockfierna also known as The “Hill of Truth” or the “Hill of the Fairies” steeped in history from famine times. The Rambling house on the top of the hill is known for music and storytelling. I try to incorporate Knockfierna through my work, along with my love for colour, abstract, impressionist style art.
